- Creative teaching opportunity!
- School with military links
- Competitive pay
A specialist school in Plymouth are looking for a Chemistry specialist to add to their staffing. The successful teacher will need to be able to teach students between the ages of 14-18 therefore up to A-Level. The school needs the applicant to a Chemistry specialist as the school only teaches STEM subjects alongside PE. The school is a specialist school, where students at the age of 14 can transfer here rather than continuing with their GCSEs in a mainstream school. Since the school concentrates on the technical subjects, many of their students go onto Engineering careers and the school have links to the military. The school uses a more vocational approach to teaching, therefore the successful applicant needs to be able to fit into the ethos of the school and be creative with their teaching. The school is the perfect opportunity for students who are not interested in completing the full GCSE courses but instead want to gain qualifications in Maths, the Sciences and Technology. It would be desirable if the applicant had experience in engineering since this will be an underlying part of the role as their is some Chemistry involved in the BTEC engineering course, however this is not essential. I have strong links with the school as we have helped with their recruitment in the past and we understand how important it is for the school that the applicant fit in with the style of teaching and vocational learning.
