SEN Teaching Assistant - Salford

Are you a qualified teaching assistant who is looking for work in and around the Salford area?

A primary SEN school in Salford require teaching assistants for both short and long term contracts.

The pupils you will work with are aged 2 - 11 with special educational needs arising from a range of conditions. A large number of pupils have an autistic spectrum disorder. Some of the pupils have physical difficulties whilst others may have a language disorder or have a general developmental delay. All the pupils have difficulties accessing education and need to work in smaller class groups with a high level of specialist staff from Education, Speech and Language Therapy, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and the School Nursing Service.

To apply for these positions, you must possess a calm and caring nature and have the ability to deal with challenging behaviour.

Qualifications and training such as Team-Teach, Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant awards, Moving & Handling etc are all highly desirable.

Experience of using PECS, Makaton and/or Signalong would also be beneficial.
