Bury school require a specialist SEN Teaching assistant ASAP

An Ofsted 'OUTSTANDING' SEN school in Radcliffe, Bury are looking for a Teaching Assistant to support within their school on a long term basis to start as soon as possible until the end of the academic year. If both parties are happy then this position will then go into September with view to a permanent opportunity coming about before the end of the academic year.

This school are a 98 place school that support pupils with complex medical, communication and physical needs. Some children also have Autism Spectrum Conditions that can result in challenging behaviours. The school caters for pupils aged 4 - 11 throughout mixed ability classes. Pupil's communication needs result in alternative methods of communication being used around school, such as iPads, PECs, Brail and BSL. Promoting independence is a main focus within this 'Outstanding' school therefore staff that share this passion is essential.

It would be highly desirable for the Teaching Assistant to have experience of:

• Moving and Handling Training
• PEG Feeding
• Tracheostomy Training
• Team- teach training
• Delivering Personal Care
• School based experience is also highly desirable
