Biology Teacher - Derby

  • Pay range will be dependent upon experience and payscale: MPS1 - UPS3 (£23720 - £39406)
  • Full time Biology teaching position starting in September 2019 for the duration of a maternity leave likely until May 2020
  • Biology teacher required: initially on a supply basis with the option of progressing onto a school contract for the remainder of the maternity; 1 term temporary to move onto a school contract
  • Option to continue with the school following the maternity cover for the right candidate

Our client secondary school situated in the Derby area is looking for a Biology teacher to start with them in September 2019. This highly regarded, co-educational secondary school requires a Biology specialist as a result of a maternity leave due to take place. The successful Biology teacher will be teaching year at KS3 and KS4 level as well as the likelihood of teaching some lower key stage Chemistry and Physics.

(This will be on a supply basis with the opportunity to exercise a temp to perm contract if the Biologist is successful and finds the school to their liking)

The successful Biology teacher will be expected to immerse themselves within school life, taking on all planning, marking and assessment as well as taking part in parent's evenings which take place throughout the academic year. The school is highly supportive of all teachers and is also able to offer support for any NQTs that apply and are looking to fulfil their NQT, Induction year. Applications are therefore being encouraged from teachers of all experience levels including NQTs and those more experienced.
