Role and Responsibilities:

As a Behavioural Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Implementing trauma-informed practices to create a safe and structured learning environment.
• Providing both one-to-one and group support to help students regulate their emotions and behaviour.
• Building strong, trusting relationships with students to encourage engagement and personal development.
• Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to implement effective support strategies.
• Using positive behaviour management techniques to assist students in overcoming daily challenges.
• Encouraging and guiding students to achieve their academic and personal goals.
• Monitoring student progress and adapting support plans accordingly.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience working with students with SEMH needs and behavioural challenges.
• A trauma-informed approach to supporting vulnerable children.
• Exceptional patience, resilience, and empathy.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to manage challenging situations calmly and effectively.
• A proactive and positive attitude, with a passion for making a difference.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
