Job Title: Full-Time Support Worker

Student: Year 10

About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Support Worker to provide one-to-one support for a Year 10 student in a SEMH school setting. This role requires someone who is passionate about breaking down barriers to learning and committed to helping students reach their full potential in a challenging environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored support to a student with SEN needs and highly challenging behaviour.
• Implement strategies to manage behaviour effectively and maintain a safe, positive learning environment.
• Work closely with teaching staff to adapt learning materials and approaches to meet individual needs.
• Build strong, trusting relationships to encourage engagement and progress.
• Promote emotional regulation and resilience through consistent, supportive interactions.

Essential Qualities and Experience:

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN and SEMH needs.
• Proven ability to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour calmly and professionally.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport and trust.
• Patience, resilience, and adaptability in a dynamic school environment.
• Ability to break down learning barriers and motivate students to achieve their goals.
• Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.

Desirable:

• Relevant qualifications in SEN, SEMH, or behaviour management.
• Experience in therapeutic or trauma-informed approaches.

Hours: Full-time
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
