Job Title: Full-Time Support Worker

Student: Year 10
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Support Worker to provide one-to-one support for a Year 10 student in a SEMH school setting. This role requires someone who is passionate about breaking down barriers to learning and committed to helping students reach their full potential in a challenging environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to a student with SEN needs and highly challenging behaviour.
- Implement strategies to manage behaviour effectively and maintain a safe, positive learning environment.
- Work closely with teaching staff to adapt learning materials and approaches to meet individual needs.
- Build strong, trusting relationships to encourage engagement and progress.
- Promote emotional regulation and resilience through consistent, supportive interactions.
Essential Qualities and Experience:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN and SEMH needs.
- Proven ability to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour calmly and professionally.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport and trust.
- Patience, resilience, and adaptability in a dynamic school environment.
- Ability to break down learning barriers and motivate students to achieve their goals.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
Desirable:
- Relevant qualifications in SEN, SEMH, or behaviour management.
- Experience in therapeutic or trauma-informed approaches.
Hours: Full-time
Salary: Competitive, based on experience

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
