1:1 Learning Support Staff – SEMH School (Wirral)

The school is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Learning Support Staff member to join its specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) provision in Wirral. This full-time position offers a competitive salary based on experience.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting individual students on their educational journey. Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering personalised support to students, ensuring a secure and positive learning environment.
  • Building strong, trusting relationships to help students feel understood and valued.
  • Implementing tailored learning strategies to meet each child’s unique needs.
  • Responding calmly and effectively to challenging situations, prioritising student well-being.
  • Acting as a positive role model, promoting empathy, patience, and respect.
  • Collaborating with teachers and staff to develop comprehensive support plans.
  • Motivating and encouraging students to engage in learning and overcome barriers.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience working with children, ideally those with SEMH needs.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, child development, or mental health (desirable).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
