Teaching Assistant (Full-Time) – Specialist Secondary School (SEND)

Your Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored support to students with SEND, ensuring individual needs are met both academically and personally.
• Work collaboratively with teachers to adapt resources and deliver engaging learning experiences.
• Offer one-to-one and small-group support, building positive relationships and promoting independence.
• Assist in implementing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) to help students reach their goals.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment.
• Encourage social skills and positive behaviour in and beyond the classroom.
• Liaise with staff, parents, and external professionals to achieve the best outcomes for every pupil.

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, ideally in a secondary school setting.
• A patient, compassionate, and resilient approach, with the ability to build trust and rapport.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Adaptability and creativity in meeting diverse learning needs.
• Effective behaviour management skills and the ability to create a calm, supportive environment.
• A genuine commitment to promoting independence and confidence in students.
