Learning Support Assistant – Make a Difference in Young Lives
The school is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join a dedicated team within an Alternative Provision setting on the Wirral. This is a full-time, term-time only position with the potential to become permanent.
Role Overview
The Learning Support Assistant will work closely with secondary-aged students who experience social, emotional, and mental health challenges. The role involves providing tailored support to help students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver one-to-one and small group support for students with ADHD and SEMH needs.
- Assist in managing and positively de-escalating challenging behaviour.
- Build strong, trusting relationships to foster engagement and progress.
- Contribute to creating a safe, supportive, and nurturing learning environment.
- Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to promote student well-being.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience supporting children with ADHD, SEMH needs, or challenging behaviour is essential.
- Demonstrates patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed.
- Possesses excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
- Creative and adaptable in engaging learners and supporting their development.
- Calm, compassionate, and able to remain composed under pressure.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
