Behavioural Support Assistant
A small welcoming Primary School near the Carleton Area outside Blackpool are in need of a behaviour support assistant to work closely with a pupil in their Year 2 class.
Details of the role:
This young boy who needs supervising and is on the ASD pathway and working towards Y1 targets. This child sometimes struggles to engage in class and would benefit from 1:1 support from a candidate who has experience of working along-side ‘hard to reach’ pupils. Candidates with experience of differentiating activities and lessons to suit children working below age related expectations are welcome to apply. This is a new role in school and could materialise into a long-term position working alongside this child until he leaves school in Year 6.
The SENCo has highlighted that the ideal candidate will have extensive experience of supporting individuals with similar needs, for example a strong Teaching Assistant with experience in a similar role, a practitioner who has previously been employed in a special educational needs provision or a Support Worker.
The child requires a firm but nurturing approach. They also learn best through short bursts of learning with frequent opportunities for rewards. The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge and implement strategies relevant to providing the best support to the child. On arrival, you will be given a full induction and will be involved in the writing/ update of the child’s IEP alongside the School SENCo and Class Teacher.
Essential Job Requirements:
- Relevant Level 2 qualification minimum
- 1 years’ experience in a role supporting individuals with similar needs minimum
- Good knowledge of supporting individuals with ADHD
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Committed to providing the very best support to the pupils in your care
Further details:
- Working hours: 9:00am – 3:15pm
- Full Time: Mon – Fri
- Pay Rate: £10.77

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
