About the Role-

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a behavioural specialist teacher to join our award-winning SEN school. This role includes delivering a range of subjects across the school’s curriculum to students with additional learning needs, aged 12-19. This role allows the successful educator to apply their knowledge of behavioural management techniques and to further develop skills such as functional behaviour assessment (FBA), de-escalation techniques, sensory regulation strategies and physical intervention. It is essential that you can create an encouraging learning environment where students can grow and gain confidence, safely. This ethos reflects the wider culture of the school and is essential that educators are like-minded.

About the School-

Our SEN school has a pupil base of 500 and caters to students aged 3-19 years old, with a range of Additional Learning Needs (ALN). These ALN include but are not limited to autism spectrum disorder (ASD), physical disabilities (PD), social, emotional and mental health challenges (SEMH), and profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD). Our school is committed to creating a nurturing and supportive environment where young people can fully explore their personalities and learn the critical skills they will need to take their next steps.

The school is consistently looking to push to new heights in developing the SEN education sector. Namely, they were recently coined as award-winning due to the incorporation of innovative technology into their curriculum to further support students with participation in lessons.

The school also strives to enhance the lives of their students outside the classroom and regularly lines up outdoor excursions for classes. This massively builds confidence in students and gets them ready to take their next steps after school-life.

Who we are looking for-

• Individuals with experience managing challenging behaviour.
• Individuals with an in depth understanding of ALN and how to cater to them via independent learning plans.
• Educators who can create an exciting environment where learning and self-exploration can take place.
• Individuals who remain calm under pressure and are highly empathetic.

Requirements-

• Hold a Qualified Teaching Status (QTS).
• Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
• Child and Adult Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
• Level 2 Safeguard training.
• Professional references covering the previous 24 months of employment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
