A specialist school in Bradford are currently seeking a Behaviour Support Worker to join their team this term. The school caters for pupils aged 11-18 who cannot access mainstream education on a full-time basis due to their behaviour needs. A close relationship with the local high school provides valuable experience and progression for pupils in Key Stage 3, 4 and 5.
Catering for pupils aged 11-18 with complex Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs, and Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC), the school require a resilient support worker who is able to deal effectively with challenging behaviour. You must be confident in your classroom management skills and have an understanding of the complexities relating to Autism. There are presently 100 pupils on roll and learning abilities range from P-Scale 2 into national curriculum levels. Pupils are transported from all parts of Bradford and some travel from Calderdale, making the pupil population rich and culturally diverse.
A Team-Teach qualification or relevant qualification (e.g. MAPA) is highly desirable but not essential. Teaching Personnel also offer a range of CPD courses including Team-Teach and Moving and Handling and opportunities to receive training in partnership with Leeds Trinity University, such as Assessment for Learning, Using Data and Differentiation.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
