Behaviour support teaching assistant, Kidbrooke, secondary

Date posted : 16/04/19
£60 - £75 per day

Job description

This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...

A small, alternative provision to mainstream education in the Kidbrooke area is looking for a member of support staff to start work with them this coming half term (May 2019). If you are looking for behaviour focussed learning support assistant work in this area, please get in touch!

The provision caters for students who have not been able to cope in mainstream education for a variety of reasons, including those who have autism, other social and communication difficulties and those who have very challenging behaviour. The position available at the moment is for a learning support assistant to work 1:1 with a boy in year 7, who has been excluded from a mainstream school due to his behaviour.

This is a temporary contract ending in July 2019.

You will be required to provide 1:1 support for this child, developing his academic learning as well as his social skills and life skills. You will need to be able to relate to the boy and be able to inspire him and challenge him to make progress. You must also be confident to deal with challenging behaviour at times - Team Teach training or any equivalent type of restraint training is extremely sought after.

You will benefit from:

  • Reduced hours (9am - 2:30pm) Monday to Friday
  • Opportunity to take part in practical activities in the afternoons, for example gardening, art, sports and off site activities
  • Daily pay rates between £60 and £75 per day, dependent on experience
  • Excellent parental engagement and support from the Head Teacher
  • Designated spaces for 1:1 and small group work

The Head Teacher is happy to interview and trial potential candidates. If you would like further information, or to register with Teaching Personnel and be put forward for this position, contact Louise in the London Bridge office by sending your CV today.
