Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant (Flexible working hours)

Teaching Personnel are working alongside a number of client schools in Manchester who require a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to work within the inclusion unit after the Christmas break.

  • Working as a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant, supporting pupils identified as being at risk of being permanently excluded from mainstream education
  • Working within the inclusion unit at a number of schools across Manchester and the surrounding areas
  • Earn a competitive wage of up to £75 a day, dependent on your experience and qualifications
  • Flexible hours available as you work around your current employment or education schedule

Working as a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant is a very important and rewarding role where you will make a real difference in the pupil's lives as you act as a role model and encourage them to further engage with the curriculum whilst minimizing their risk of being permanently excluded from mainstream education. You will be supporting the pupils within the schools inclusion unit on a 1:1 and group basis whilst using your behaviour management and previous experience in supporting young people to transition them back into the schools mainstream classes and putting in place further development plans to monitor and track progress.

Previous experience as a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant is preferred however we would welcome applicants from those with similar transferable experience such as Youth or Social workers or those that have previous experience supporting pupils who show signs of challenging behaviour. We would also like to hear from you if you are a recent graduate who is seeking further experience in a secondary school before enrolling on a PGCE or similar Teacher Training Programme, or if you have studied in a behaviour related degree such as Psychology or Criminology.
