Full Description: Bring the past to life and transform history from dates on a page into epic human stories! We are looking for a dynamic, intellectually curious History Teacher to spark curiosity, challenge assumptions, and nurture critical thinking in secondary students. You will guide learners through fascinating historical eras—from local British history to global conflicts and developments—fostering lively classroom debates, strong source analysis, and exceptional written skills. Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver captivating history lessons that encourage students to think like historians and question historical narratives.

• Design stimulating tasks involving primary and secondary source evaluation, essay writing, and historical inquiry.

• Collaborate with an enthusiastic humanities department to share resources and curriculum ideas.

• Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to drive academic achievement.

Requirements:

• Relevant degree in History or a Humanities discipline alongside QTS / PGCE.

• Proven experience (or strong placement evidence for ECTs) teaching History at Key Stages 3 and 4.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills with an ability to command a room.

• A deep passion for historical research and contemporary historical discussions.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
