Behaviour Support Mentor for Secondary SEND Provision

Teaching Personnel are working with an OFSTED 'Good' specialist school in Sunderland to recruit a Behaviour Support Mentor to work in their Key Stage 2 and 3 classes with students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties. The role is looking to commence from September on a temporary basis, however there is strong likelihood that a permanent contract will be offered to the right candidate. A Team Teach qualification is highly desirable for this position, due to the nature of the behaviour in the school.

The school has a strong focus on three areas, academic achievement, preparing for work life and becoming active and responsible citizens. The candidate will be responsible for helping students meet these goals, and preparing them for life after school. You will be supporting in lessons not just for academic qualifications but also for life skills and employability, you will be a strong role model for the students and passionate about making a difference to their education. You will be confident managing challenging behaviour and will have a nurturing personality.
