We are currently looking for a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant at a school based in Crawley, starting ASAP.
As a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant within the school, you will be required to support the student’s learning, development and lives of pupils who struggle within a mainstream environment.
• Full time Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant
• Temporary post starting in January
• Working hours (8.30am – 3:30pm)
The School provides education for Primary and Secondary pupils who have been permanently excluded from school and those who cannot attend their own schools for medical reasons.
They also support referrals for pupils at significant risk of permanent exclusion from school.
What they do:
They aim to provide a broad and balanced curriculum, in small educational settings, to support children and young people who have had significant behavioural difficulties in school, or who have serious medical conditions, to reach their full potential.
Their aim, where possible, is to reintegrate children and young people to schools or other appropriate long-term educational settings.
The role:
Day to day responsibilities within this Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant include; supporting the learning and development of pupils who struggle to engage within classes, provide general support to teachers within lessons and deliver resources and small groups of pupils withdrawn from their classes.
Candidate requirements:
• Previous exposure supporting the learning of ‘harder to reach’ primary aged pupils
• Be confident supporting pupils aged 7-16
• Be able to build positive working relationships with pupils
• Be available on a full time basis

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
