BEHAVIOUR SUPPORT TA

A behaviour specialist TA looking for a new opportunity as of September 2020, who would benefit from the support and numerous contacts that Teaching Personnel can offer? Do you have the ability engage the disengaged, support students that many others would overlook? Are you comfortable working with individuals who can sometimes prove challenging on a 1:1 basis? 

If so we have numerous opportunities for you as of September 2020! Teaching Personnel looks after Schools and multi academy trusts found in Chesterfield who are in search of behavioural specialist support assistants to work with students on a daily basis. 

Many children who display challenging behavioural traits thrive off structure and routine, as a result of COVID19 this will have majorly been interrupted. With many pupils having their support network taken away from them. The right candidate will be tasked in creating some form of normality and structure once more upon return to school, your time will

Most probably be split between classroom based and 1:1 based sessions where you will deliver a variety of interventions to students who in many instances struggle to learn in the conventional way. Thus said, it is imperative that you have the ability of becoming a calm influence whilst building a strong working relationship quickly. You will understand various approaches to learning and are able to create resources/interventions that meet the individual learners requirements. 

Experienced primary school behaviour specialists would be ideal, however there are a number of other professions that make ideal behaviour support assistants. Some of these roles include:

  • SEN orientated 
  • Social or Support workers    
  • PRU experience/young offenders 
  • A military, public services or sports background 
  • Counselling or Psychology 

Abnormal working week will most probably consist of Monday to Friday 8:30am - 3:30pm with an hour lunch ( due to the nature of the role in some cases you may be asked to support during lunch also)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
