Working with school to address the needs of identified pupils to overcome barriers to learning.
The successful applicant will work on a 1:1 basis or in small groups to deliver learning activities as well as monitoring students’ behaviour, attendance and performance.
You will be responsible for implementing a number of behaviour strategies with the aim of reducing the risk of exclusion, along with supporting students working independently in the inclusion unit.

Our client secondary school is an 11-16 mixed academy situated in Oldham, bordering Manchester. The school is easily accessible via the M60 motorway and from the surrounding areas; Central Manchester, Rochdale and Bury. This is a larger than average secondary school with over 1300 students currently on roll, with the school catering for the diverse local community it serves. In recent years the school was newly built on the existing site and boasts brand new state-of-the-art facilities, large classrooms and excellent provisions for all students and staff.
In recent years, there has been a change in the school’s leadership team which has had a positive influence on the standards of teaching and in turn the students’ attitude to learning, which has been reflected by the most recent expected GCSE results a substantial increase on last years. Overall attendance has improved along with students behaviour consistently good throughout the school day.
The incoming Behaviour Support Assistant will work with identified students’ both during lessons and around the school to improve their standards of behaviour and bring in line with their peers with the overall aim of ensuring they are meeting their expected grades in school.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
