A secondary school located in the south of Manchester is looking for a Behaviour Mentor to start with them in January at the beginning of the academic year. Teaching Personnel have been inundated with requests this term for Behaviour Mentors with a number of schools asking for individuals who are experienced in supporting young people exhibiting challenging behaviour.

The role of a Behaviour Mentor at this school is to work on a 1:1 basis with a student who requires assistant in a variety of capacities. The student is receptive to someone who can act as a positive role model and will support them in a school work capacity but also look to build a relationship with the student. This role will therefore suite a Behaviour Mentor who is experienced in working with challenging behaviour or those who are disengaged.

This school is located in the south of Manchester very close to the M60 ring road. It is therefore easy to get to for any Behaviour Mentor who drives as well as being located on a direct bus route from the city centre of Manchester. The school is well resourced especially within their support department having a great provision on offer for all students identified as requiring additional support.

Highlights of this Behaviour Mentor position:

  • Opportunity to earn up to GBP1200 per month depending experience
  • Full time Behaviour Mentor required to start on Monday 6th January
  • Support a specifically identified student on a 1 to 1 basis working with them in all classes and separately within the school’s on site behaviour support unit
  • Highly supportive and well resourced support department at this average sized secondary school in south Manchester

The successfully appointed Behaviour Mentor will report to the school SENCO and Inclusion Manager equally who work very closely together. The Inclusion Manager oversees the school’s behaviour policy and support unit, working with all support staff to ensure they are supportive appropriately.
