Job description
Behaviour Support Assistant - An Secondary school in the Sheffield area is looking for a full- time Teaching Assistant from April to support students within their IR unit.
As a Behavioural Mentor, your duties will require you to supervise the pupils throughout the school day, encourage the pupils to engage with their education, build rapport with students, be a role model and help the pupils to understand why their education is important. You may be required to work 1:1 with a certain pupil or provide more general classroom support. The school would be interested in a candidate who has previous experience supporting children who display challenging behaviours.
This role would be suitable for applicants with a background in Education, Sports, Carers, Residential support workers, Youth Workers and those with the experience within the Prison system or the Military.
We are looking for candidates:
- Hold a full drivers license (Preferred but not essential)
- Are patient
- Have a caring disposition
- Can set clear and respectable boundaries
- Encourage pupils to engage in every activity
- Are able to reinforce positive behaviour
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH TEACHING PERSONNEL, YOU MUST:
- Hold Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide two professional references that cover the last two years

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
