Behaviour support Assistant

Do you have experience working with children who have additional needs such as SEMH. We have the opportunity for you to work in a centre to support secondary children in small groups. You will support their teacher and help guide them throughout the day. The children take part in mechanic, hair dressing and beauty workshops. The week is broken up of 3 days supporting them in a classroom setting and 2 days of pupil support, 1-1 and pupil intervention.

Work duties

The role of a behaviour support assistant involves creating strong and trustworthy bonds with students, supporting them by remaining positive. Many of the pupils have previously had negative experiences of school and feelings of failure and frustration therefore it will be vital to develop their social skills and raise their aspirations. Encouraging assigned pupils with Behaviour, Emotional and Social needs to participate and actively engage in activities led by teachers. Delivering and monitoring short term interventions on behalf of disengaged and disaffected learners. There may be times when it is required you would assist children on a 1-1 basis or supporting them and helping them reach their goals by working with them in much smaller groups than would usually be found in mainstream schools.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
