Behaviour Support Assistant

Are you an experienced Youth Worker, Support Worker or Behaviour Support Assistant seeking a full-time role within a secondary school?

Do you have experience working with children and young people who display challenging behaviour, are vulnerable or have social, emotional, or mental health needs (SEMH)?

Teaching Personnel are working with the Inclusion Manager at a small secondary Academy located in Oldham to support with the recruitment of a full-time Behaviour Specialist. This position will commence as soon as possible and will initially continue until the end of the academic year. There is a chance to secure a permanent role with the school following the initial appointment – dependent on the success of the post holder.

*If you haven’t worked within a school setting before but have experience managing challenging behaviour, you will still be considered for this position.*

- Full-time Behaviour Specialist required, ASAP start date.

- Working within the Inclusion Unit and providing in class support.

- Full support from the Inclusion and Behaviour Teams and collaborative team planning to support pupils to the best of their ability.

- Managing the behaviour of pupils in line with the school behaviour policy.

“Our Inclusion Team wish to appoint a full-time Behaviour Specialist to work with students, both within the Inclusion Unit and during lesson time. The role of the Behaviour Specialist will involve working with pupils as a Mentor on a 1:1 basis, liaising with outside agencies to ensure that pupils receive the best support and progress is tracked, and promoting positive behaviour management across the school.” Inclusion Manager.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
