Secondary TA – Maghull– September 2020
Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with two Secondary schools in the Maghull and Crosby area of Liverpool, who are seeking Teaching Assistants to work on a 1:1 and small group basis supporting KS3 & KS4 pupils with behavioural needs.
A Secondary school in north Liverpool are looking to appoint a behaviour support assistant on a long term basis. Initially, the position will until the end of the academic year but there is an opportunity for a permanent contract. The school caters for individuals between 11-16 and have a group of students with a Statement of SEN or an EHCP, on the autistic spectrum and/or have significant communication and interaction difficulties and social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).
Due to the specific needs of the pupils we would be interested in applicants with experience of supporting children or young people with challenging behaviour. The ideal behaviour support assistant will have experience working with pupils with challenging behaviour and understand how to de-escalate situations.
The ideal behaviour support assistant will have:
- Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (ideally level 3)
- Preferably Team-Teach trained or other restraint training (can be provided)
- A considerable amount of experience working with pupils with challenging behaviour
- Experience working within a special needs setting
- An understanding of the de-escalation tactics and crisis prevention

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
