Behaviour Support Assistant

The Head Teacher of an Ofsted rated ‘Good’ Primary school based in LE5 is looking to recruit an experienced Behaviour Support Worker.

  • Full time role available from Feb 2020 until the end of the academic year
  • 8:30 – 3:30 Monday – Friday term time only
  • Supporting a small group of students, in class and on a 1:1 basis, with a range of behavioural difficulties
  • Experience with challenging behaviour or previous roles with transferable skills necessary
  • Earn up to GBP12 an hour

Working as a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will be:

  • Working alongside class teachers supporting students aged 4 -11 in classes
  • Supporting a small group of students with challenging behaviour who can shown signs of disruptive, argumentative and self-focused behaviour
  • Expected to incorporate inventions to aid the student's behaviour with the hopes of raising their progress and attainment
  • Promoting positive attitude and behaviour to aid children's engagement in learning
  • Assisting students in class and on a 1:1 basis when they are withdrawn from various subjects to attend intervention sessions that the prospective candidate should be able to plan and deliver

To be considered for this Behaviour Support role it is required that you have experience of working with individuals who have behavioural difficulties as these skills will be highly transferable. In particular, our client school would like candidates that are familiar with students that are known to show disruptive, emotional and withdrawn behaviour and therefore, require extra support with their studies. With almost 300 pupils, the school is in need of extra staff to guarantee these students are supported and that teachers also have the help they require in the classroom.
