Behaviour Support Assistant

We are excited to be recruiting on behalf of a welcoming mainstream secondary school in Heywood for a Behaviour Support Assistant to join their provisions unit this September.
This is a rewarding opportunity for a committed individual who is passionate about supporting young people with behavioural needs and Special Educational Needs. The role will begin on a temporary basis, with a clear pathway to a permanent position for the right candidate.
About the Role
You will work closely with students within the school’s provisions unit, supporting those who require additional help managing behaviour and accessing learning. You will play a key role in creating a positive, structured environment that promotes engagement, confidence, and progress.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting students with behavioural needs and SEN on a 1:1 and small group basis
- Assisting in the implementation of behaviour management strategies
- Building positive relationships with students to encourage engagement
- Working collaboratively with teaching staff and the SEN team
- Promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment

- Experience working with young people with behavioural needs and/or SEN

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
