Teaching Personnel is working closely with a welcoming primary school in Fleetwood to recruit a Behaviour Support Assistant to support pupils with behavioural, social and emotional needs.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and thrive in a school environment. While experience as a Teaching Assistant is valued, we also encourage applications from individuals with backgrounds in youth work, residential care, support work, or similar child-focused roles.
The Role
As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will:

Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with behavioural needs
-
Help pupils regulate emotions and develop positive coping strategies
-
Support the class teacher with behaviour management and engagement
-
Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
-
Promote a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment
About You
We are looking for someone who:

Has experience supporting children or young people with behavioural or additional needs
-
Is calm, patient and resilient, with a positive approach to behaviour
-
Can work effectively as part of a school team
-
Has strong communication and relationship-building skills
-
Is committed to safeguarding and promoting children’s wellbeing
Relevant experience may include:

Teaching Assistant roles

Youth work
-
Residential care
-
Support work (children or young people)
-
Mental health or behavioural support roles

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
