Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant

Pay Rate: £13.75 – £14.50 per hour

Job Overview
A well-regarded mainstream primary school in Ormskirk is looking to appoint a SEND Teaching Assistant to work on a long-term basis until July 2026. The school prides itself on inclusion, high standards and strong pastoral support.
Key Responsibilities

Provide consistent support to pupils with SEND

Assist with differentiated learning activities

Promote emotional regulation and positive behaviour

Support pupils during transitions and unstructured times

Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and parents
Additional Information

Position is based in a SEND resource provision

The provision supports pupils with ASC and ADHD
-
Personal care may be part of the role
-
Knowledge of behaviour management and de-escalation strategies is required
Ideal Candidate

Previous SEND or classroom support experience

Understanding of autism-friendly and ADHD-supportive approaches

Compassionate and professional manner

Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
