An 'outstanding' special school in West Drayton are seeking dedicated behaviour mentors and Special Needs support teaching assistants (TAs) to join their supportive and ever growing team!

The school provides education with an incorporated life skills focus to primary and secondary aged pupils with autism, learning difficulties and challenging behaviours.

They are looking for outgoing SEN Teaching Assistants, behaviour mentors, youth workers graduates, with experience supporting special needs and an interest in working within special schools for ongoing full-time roles.

Ideally successful candidates should have experience within educational settings as the school's focus is heavily on the engaging of pupils in learning and assisting them to become successful in their own right through education.

Do you want to…

  • Support SEN pupils in developing both social and educationally skills
  • Help young people to understand choices and the consequences of the choices they make
  • Support SEN children and young people in becoming successful in their own right
  • Enable children and young people with special needs to become more independent

If the answer is yes and you have a minimum of 4 of the qualities this may be the right position for you:

  • Experience working with children or young people with autism and challenging behaviour (EBD/SEMH)
  • Confidence in supporting pupils 1:1, 2:1 or in small groups in educational and social skills activities
  • GCSEs, A Level, Degree, Masters UK based qualifications relevant to supporting SEN pupils in Education (e.g. Psychology, Sociology, Neuroscience, English, Maths, Science and social sciences)
  • An outgoing personality and ability to form positive relationships

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
