Teaching Personel are looking for a Behaviour Mentor for an SEMH School based in the LE12 area. This role will involve an immediate start and would be on a full time basis. The role will involve working with pupils ranging from Primary, Secondary and Post 16, these students have a range of social and emotional issues. You will be personally responsible in providing extra support and guidance with their learning.

The main aspect of the role will be helping the students to engage with their learning, and encouraging personal and social development whilst managing challenging behaviour throughout the day. You will be expected to monitor student's personal progress within lessons, and you will have regular meetings with the class teacher to discuss this and to provide support for yourself within the role. Students in this provision often display extremely challenging behaviour.

The client school welcomes candidates with backgrounds in education, youth/social work, counselling and graduates so this role is ideal for those looking to move their career into educational fields. You will be passionate about improving the lives of young people and have a strong desire to work with SEND.

The ideal candidate would have the following:

- Understanding of young people experience social & emotional issues

- Knowledge that attachment disorder exists

- Some knowledge of Autism

- GCSE A*-C in English & Maths or equivalent

- Evidence of being a continual learner

- Knowledge of safeguarding young people

- Team Teach trained

The following are desirable:

- Previous role in or study of people with mental health issues

- Specialist knowledge of attachment disorder

- Personal or professional knowledge of Autism

- Vocational qualifications relevant to the role
