Are you looking to support within the school environment working with disengaged students?

Do you have previous experience of working with challenging young people, able to utilise your relationship building skills?

A secondary school in the South Manchester area is looking to recruit a Behaviour Teaching Assistant to start with them in March on a full time basis.

The school’s Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) has advised:

“We are looking for a teaching assistant that is particularly strong with regards behaviour management. The appointed Teaching Assistant will be working with a year 7 and year 8 student, both of which have behavioural problems and need consistent support. The successful TA should have relevant experience in working with young people who are disengaged with education, ideally from a school based background but any relevant transferable experience is welcomed”

Highlights of the Behaviour Teaching Assistant role:

  • Full time Behaviour TA required: March 2020
  • Duration: March – July 2020 in the first instance
  • Opportunity to progress onto a school based contract but not essential
  • Support at this highly supportive and well renowned secondary school in the South Manchester area
  • Pay will range between GBP1140 - GBP1300 per month depending on experience

The successful Behaviour Teaching Assistant will be supporting these students on an individual basis working with them and supporting them whilst at school. The students are at risk of exclusion with this being seen as a last resort. Instead, building a relationship and working with the students on a 1:1 basis is the key to the Behaviour Teaching Assistants role. There will also be the opportunity to support in other areas of the school, working with teaching staff to support specific classes and look to reintegrate these students back into mainstream teaching.

This secondary school is a large school situated in the South Manchester area close to the M60 motorway network. The school is housed in a new building with fantastic facilities and an entire resource centre within the school itself. The successful Behaviour Teaching Assistant would be joining a large support team under the school’s SENCO and Assistant SENCO/leading Support Assistant.

If you are an individual looking for a role within a reputable and successful secondary school in South Manchester then this is the role for you. Any relevant experience or skills in working with students exhibiting behavioural problems is highly welcomed; to apply now click the link below and attach your latest CV outlining your experience.
