Behaviour Mentor- Secondary school- Stockport

Teaching Personnel are recruiting for an experienced Behaviour Mentor on behalf of our partner secondary school located in Stockport. This full time Behaviour Mentor role will be to specifically focus on improving the behaviour, attendance, and motivation to school life with identified pupils:

Specific duties-

-Working 1-to-1 with identified pupils to challenge disengaged behaviour and application to school life.

- To promote positive behaviour management strategies across all year groups.

- To liaise with teachers, parents and carers to ensure progress is recorded in line with their behaviour management plan.

About the role-

Due to the strategic vision of the Director of Inclusion to continue the rapid improvement of this popular school, they are looking to further strengthen their team by adding the support of a Behaviour Mentor in the new academic year. This exciting position will involve supporting all year groups and providing pastoral support for identified pupils. There will also be a specific focus on supporting Year 7 pupils and their transition from Primary schools.

The role is particular suited to a confident individual who has experience of working with disengaged young people in an educational capacity. You must be able to de-escalate apathy to learning in a calm manner. Further, the ability to build effective working relationships the pupils' parents/carers is essential to ensure a cohesive behaviour management strategies are in place.

The school-

Our partner school is an average sized secondary school with just over 900 pupils on roll. The large majority of pupils who attend the school are from White British backgrounds with the numbers of pupils who speak English as an additional language being significantly below the national average.

Located a short drive away from the M60 motorway, the school has excellent accessibility to the boroughs of Stockport as well as Tameside. There are also regular public transport routes to the school via bus and train.
