Behaviour Mentor – Dover – Immediate Start – 6.5 hours a day, 5 days a week. 

Teaching Personnel are working with a secondary school in Dover who are recruiting behaviour Mentors to join their Teaching, Learning and Intervention team for their Alternative Education Provision. This role is to start as soon as possible.

Behaviour Mentor Responsibilities:

  • To establish productive working relationships with pupils, encouraging and motivating them.
  • Raising achievement by providing a specialist service that assists schools in meeting their targets and obligations.
  • Being a friend to students with behavioural issues, while providing a safe learning environment.
  • To challenge and motivate pupils, promoting and reinforcing self-esteem alongside providing levels of individual pastoral support.

 

Some preferred key skills/experience include:

  • Experience with pupils with SEMH difficulties.
  • At least six months experience supporting teaching and learning within schools.
  • Experience teaching intervention and supporting learning within the core subject areas.
  • Have experience working with students who have learning difficulties and/or behaviour difficulties in mainstream education.
  • Have a university degree - especially if linked to Psychology.

ELIGIBILITY:

  • Hold or willing to apply for a child workforce DBS
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK (there is no options for visa sponsorship)
  • Pass TP referencing policies surrounding safeguarding and disciplinaries
  • Be living in the UK and available to interview in person

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
