- Flexible hours available - ranging from half a day per week up to 5 days per week
Teaching Personnel's Behaviour Mentors work with pupils who are achieving below the required levels due to poor attendance and behaviour. Pupils may be at risk of exclusion, or have been temporarily been excluded already.
Behaviour Mentors will work alongside key school staff to reduce levels of unauthorised absence and improve levels of attendance and behaviour. Our staff establish productive working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model.
Your role would include undertaking structured and agreed learning activities/programmes, both on a 1-2-1 and small group basis, taking into consideration pupil learning styles.
Behaviour Mentors challenge and motivate , promoting and reinforcing self-esteem alongside providing levels of individual pastoral support to pupils.
The work available is flexible - working on a full or half day basis, five days per week, for at least half a term.
We currently are working with a number of PRU's and SEMH schools in the Bolton area that require learning mentors. The learning mentors will be working in a challenging environment where the young people are disengaged from education and struggle to take instructions. If you have experience in working with challenging behaviours then you would be an ideal candidate to become a learning mentor.
