Behaviour Mentor 
Location: Blackburn with Darwen
Hours:
Monday – Thursday: 8:00am – 3:20pm
Friday: 8:00am – 2:30pm
Pay: £13.75 – £14.50 per hour
Start Date: ASAP

We are currently seeking a committed and resilient Behaviour Mentor to support pupils within a secondary Alternative Provision based in Blackburn with Darwen.

This role is ideal for someone with experience in behaviour management, youth work, or working as a Teaching Assistant, who is confident in building strong relationships with pupils and managing challenging behaviours effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students as a General Teaching Assistant across the school day

  • Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour in a calm and consistent manner

  • Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage engagement

  • Working closely with teaching staff to create a safe and supportive learning environment

  • Supporting pupils’ social, emotional and behavioural development

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience working with young people with behavioural or additional needs

  • Be confident, patient, and resilient

  • Have a good sense of humour and a proactive, team-focused attitude

  • Be passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
