Job description

Behaviour Manager – Reflection Room
Location: NN4
Salary: £29,969 – £33,710 (actual salary)
Start Date: ASAP

A successful and values-driven secondary school in NN4 is seeking a committed and resilient Behaviour Manager to oversee its Reflection Room provision and support the delivery of high standards of behaviour across the school. This is a key role within the Pastoral Team, working closely with staff and students to ensure a calm, purposeful, and supportive learning environment.

About the Role

As Behaviour Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the Reflection Room, where students are placed following incidents of poor behaviour. You will ensure that this space is structured, calm, and focused on reflection and restoration, supporting students to understand and improve their behaviour.

You will be confident in applying behaviour policies consistently, de-escalating challenging situations, and maintaining high expectations. Experience of working within an inclusion room or similar setting is essential, alongside strong behaviour management skills.

About You

You are approachable, resilient, and highly organised. You communicate clearly and calmly, even in challenging situations, and you take pride in supporting students to meet expectations and make positive behavioural choices.

You enjoy working in a dynamic environment, can manage multiple priorities, and are confident applying behaviour systems and procedures consistently. You work well as part of a pastoral team and are proactive in supporting colleagues where needed.

About the Behaviour and Pastoral Team

The Pastoral Team plays a vital role in maintaining a safe, structured, and supportive school environment. The team leads on behaviour systems, student support, attendance, safeguarding, and key routines that ensure students are ready to learn.

Working collaboratively with teaching staff and senior leaders, the team promotes high expectations, positive relationships, and a culture where all students can thrive.

About the School

The school is a values-led community where staff are supported, empowered, and inspired to make a real impact. Guided by principles such as Ambition, Respect, and Kindness, it fosters a collaborative culture where every team member plays a vital role in shaping the future of students.

Staff wellbeing is a genuine priority, with clear systems, consistent processes, and a calendar that supports work-life balance. Professional development is central to the school’s ethos, offering high-quality CPD, coaching, and opportunities to collaborate across a wider network of schools.

Students are curious, courteous, and eager to learn, and the school’s inclusive, restorative approach to behaviour ensures every learner feels safe and supported. With excellent facilities and a strong team ethos, it is a place where staff are trusted to lead, reflect, and grow.

About the Trust

The school is part of a growing multi-academy trust comprising 17 schools and educating over 13,500 children and young people across England. The trust is committed to delivering an education that inspires ambition, promotes equity, and unlocks opportunity for every learner.

With a rich, broad, and inclusive curriculum, and a strong focus on collaboration and high expectations, the trust works to ensure every student is supported to succeed and thrive.
