Unfortunately Covid 19 school closures will no doubtdly have had an impact on students, and particulary those already that have Social, Emotional and Mental Heath Needs (SEMH).  Teaching Personnel Bristol are seeking a Behaviour Buddy to join a large Secondary school in Fishponds, to help students reintergration back to school in September.  

This is a full time role and will begin in September 2020.  This role is for at least 2 terms but there may be a potential for you to join the school permanently after a review at Christmas. The school hours are 8.30 - 3.30 and the daily pay rate is between GBP60 - GBP68 a day (dependant on experience)

An experienced Behaviour Buddy will be confident in building rapport and trusting relationships in order to progress learning. This role involves working closely with class teachers and the SENDco to implement a tailored learning approach where required. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who have a passion for education and SEND.

The ideal Behaviour Buddy

You will already have experience supporting individuals (children or adults) in some capacity. SEN experience is also preferable.

You must be caring, patient and above all, reliable. These students have had a lot of disruption in their education and when returning to school they will need a Behaviour Buddy that is reliable and consistently there for them.

Previous classroom experience is desirable but not essential.  Other backgrounds that work well as a Behaviour Buddy are indviduals with experience:

• SEMH / PRU settings
• Youth Work
• Police or Army
• Sports coaches and mentors
• Graduates in Sport, Psychology, Drama and Counselling and Therapy

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
