Job description

Teaching Personnel currently support many schools by providing Primary Teaching Assistants, who specialise or have key experience with Autism. We are recruiting for roles within our Partnership Schools, potentially starting in September - this will be dependant on funding and new guidelines implemented. 

The primary pupils you will support will have a very literal understanding of language, and think you always mean exactly what you say. They may find it difficult to use or understand:

  • facial expressions
  • tone of voice
  • jokes and sarcasm

Skills/Experience required:

  • Supporting children with Autism
  • Level 2 or above in the relevant subject
  • Experience with social and emotional support 
  • Confidence to deal with challenging behaviour
  • Versatile and resilient
  • Willing to go the extra mile to provide a positive learning experience 
  • Able to implement consistent, firm and fair boundaries to help build up a positive professional relationship with students

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
