Full-Time Autism Teaching Assistant – Bournemouth
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? A welcoming and inclusive school in Bournemouth is looking for a dedicated Autism Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025.
This full-time role is ideal for someone who thrives in a supportive environment, understands the needs of pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), and is committed to helping them achieve both academically and personally.
The Role:

Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with autism and other SEN
-
Promote emotional regulation, communication, and independence
-
Assist the class teacher in adapting and delivering learning activities
-
Help maintain a calm, structured, and positive learning space
-
Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers and SENCO
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
-
Experience working with children or young people with autism/SEN (in school, care or youth settings)
-
A patient, empathetic, and consistent approach
-
The ability to follow guidance while showing initiative
-
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
-
A DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
