Full-Time Autism Teaching Assistant – Bournemouth 

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? A welcoming and inclusive school in Bournemouth is looking for a dedicated Autism Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025.

This full-time role is ideal for someone who thrives in a supportive environment, understands the needs of pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), and is committed to helping them achieve both academically and personally.

The Role:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with autism and other SEN

• Promote emotional regulation, communication, and independence

• Assist the class teacher in adapting and delivering learning activities

• Help maintain a calm, structured, and positive learning space

• Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers and SENCO

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Experience working with children or young people with autism/SEN (in school, care or youth settings)

• A patient, empathetic, and consistent approach

• The ability to follow guidance while showing initiative

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

• A DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
