Teaching Personnel have been approached by a Specialist School in Darwen who require an Autism Support Worker. The school require staff on a long-term basis.

The school caters for pupils, aged 10-16, with SEMH and Autism. The school require positive individuals which can make a palpable impact on the students at the school. The perfect candidate should be empathetic, an excellent communicator and compassionate. The candidate should help support the needs of each individual pupil and want to help them to achieve their goal.

As an autism support worker, you will be required to:

  • Support pupils throughout the school day.
  • Support pupils across the specialist provision.
  • Incorporate the use of senses into learning.
  • Help pupils to support their speech, language, and communication.
  • De-escalate challenging situations.
  • Consider the choices, needs, and wishes of each pupil and encourage them to make the right choices for learning.

The school will consider applications from candidates who have previous experience supporting people with SEND, have previous care experience or those willing to do training upon the subject.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
