Autism Provision Requires Support Staff

Job description

We are currently supporting the recruitment needs of an Autism provision in Maidenhead who are in need of new teaching assistants to join as soon as possible and from the new academic year in September 2019.

The provision supports pupils 4- 16 years old and all will have individual plans in place, setting targets and monitoring achievements in behaviour, academic work, social and life skills and enrichment activities.

About the provision

  • Maximum of 8 pupils per room
  • National Curriculum is modified to suit he need of each child and young person
  • Adult to pupil ratio of 1:2
  • Pupils have access to Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapist, Behaviour Analyst
  • Pupils can access a wide range of courses and qualifications from age 14 upwards. This is through links with East Berkshire College and Berkshire College of Agriculture
  • Regular trips rock climbing, horse riding and activity centres.

Experience in a similar environment is ideal however not essential as they will offer full support, guidance and training on how to deliver the individual intervention programmes.
