Autism Learning Support Assistant

8am – 4pm, term time only.

Join a large vibrant secondary academy in Manchester seeking to appoint an Autism specialist Learning Support Assistant on a full-time basis from Easter until the end of the academic year.

The successful candidate will assist in the support and integration of children from the Autism Resource Provision within mainstream school and within the Autism base to work both as part of a team and independently.

Responsibilities of the role:

• Work one-to-one and with small groups of students with Autism under the direction of the provision manager and teachers.
• Establish positive relationships with students, acting as a role model and being aware of and responding appropriately to individual needs.
• To assist in providing pastoral support to students on the Autism Spectrum.
• To encourage acceptance and integration of pupils with special needs
• Encourage students to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher.

We are looking for an experienced candidate who is passionate about supporting young people with Special Educational Needs and Autism and will help all students achieve their academic potential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
