A fantastic opportunity has arisen in a Darwen-based primary school for a specialist support assistant with experience of working with individuals with Autism.

You will be appointed on a full-time, temporary basis. The position is to support a child in the Year 1 class on a one-to-one basis, starting from Monday 2nd November 2020 until the end of the academic year, potentially longer.

The school are looking for a support assistant with recent, successful experience of supporting individuals with Autism. The child is non-verbal; recent experience of using the PECS resource and other visual aids is therefore essential.  

The school is a smaller than average-sized primary school located in Darwen. The proportion of disadvantaged pupils is just above the national average and the proportion of pupils who have special educational needs and or/ disabilities is well above the national average.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
