Role

Teaching Personnel are currently looking for a primary teacher on a year contract starting in September for a school in Northwich.

We are looking for someone with experience of working with pupils with autism or behaviour (SEMH) for the schools challenging Key Stage 2 class of 6/7 pupils.

About the School

This school is an outstanding small primary special school for pupils with autism spectrum conditions and social, communication and language difficulties. Pupils are admitted at other than the usual times and often at Key Stage 2. The proportion of pupils known to be eligible for free school meals is about average. The proportion of boys is much higher than girls and all pupils have a statement of special educational need.

Achievement in this school is outstanding because teaching is outstanding. . Leadership and management are also outstanding. Teachers and teaching assistants understand the particular needs of pupils with autism spectrum conditions exceptionally well. They are able to ensure that the learning environment reduces anxiety so that pupils can make outstanding progress in their learning and personal development usually from low starting points. The curriculum is exceptionally well designed to cater for the needs of pupils. Behaviour overall is outstanding and although some pupils may display challenging behaviour associated with their learning difficulties and disabilities, incidents are extremely well understood and managed so that they rarely disrupt lessons. Pupils clearly enjoy coming to school and attendance levels are high. Pupils' spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is excellent.

All SEN Primary Teachers interested should email michelle.moran@teachingpersonnel.com with an up to date CV or call the office on 0151 244 5430
