Makaton Experienced SEN Learning Support Assistants
- Based in Peterborough
- January 2017 start
- Busy, friendly and supportive Secondary schools
Do you have a passion for supporting pupils with special educational needs?
If so, Teaching Personnel is looking for experienced and dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistants to work on a 1-1 basis with Secondary school pupils with Autism starting in January.
Due to the level of need schools require a candidate with previous experience supporting children with severe Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Some students are non-verbal and struggle to communicate, so a working knowledge of Makaton is desirable. Formal Makaton training is not essential but highly beneficial; if you have SEN experience and knowledge of Makaton but no formal qualifications then your application is still welcome and will be considered. Some students work on an individualised curriculum so pro-activeness, dedication and a nurturing personality are essential qualities.
If you are interested or know someone who might be please get in touch with Kirsty, your Secondary Specialist.
