Teaching Assistant – ASC Support (Year 5)

Location: Poulton (FY6)
Start Date: January 2026
Contract: Full-Time

Teaching Personnel are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) in Year 5 at a welcoming primary school in Poulton.

What you’ll be doing:

• Supporting a pupil with ASC to access learning and achieve EHCP targets.
• Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored strategies.
• Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
• Adapting resources and activities to meet individual needs.

What we’re looking for:

• Experience supporting children with ASC or other SEN.
• Knowledge of autism-friendly approaches and communication strategies.
• Patience, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
