Art Teacher

Job description

An alternative provision based on the outskirts of Weston-Super-Mare, close to the M5 corridor is looking for an Art teacher to start on a full-time basis immediately with the view go permanent for the right applicant.

Ideally you will have QTS and be able to teach Art up to Key Stage 4. You must have at least one year's UK teaching experience and NQTs are encouraged to apply for this role.

Staff are chosen for their experience with SEBD students and their ability to provide motivation, encouragement and emotional support, whilst constantly encouraging the students to reach their individual academic and social potential.

This academic provider has good academic achievement but there can be extreme levels of disruption that can interrupt lessons. It is essential that you can identify the triggers early on by setting expectations and through consistent behaviour management.

Staff are encouraged to achieve the following:

  • Re-engage students in education
  • Help students raise their self-esteem
  • Design lessons which meet the needs of the students and awarding body criteria
  • Know their students
  • Recognise behavioural triggers
  • Provide emotional support

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
