Teaching Personnel are currently seeking an enthusiastic and committed English Teacher to join one of our thriving client secondary schools in Gorton, Manchester. The successful candidate will have a passion for teaching English and a proven track record of success in the classroom. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and dedicated team of teachers, who are committed to providing the best possible education for its students.

This position will be a full-time role, with a start date of the 15th of April.

You will be paid in line with your teacher pay scale point (between £30,000 and £46,525 per annum).

Responsibilities:

  • Teach English at Key Stage 3 and 4 (GCSE).
  • Plan and deliver engaging and challenging lessons that inspire and motivate students.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback and setting targets for improvement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective schemes of work.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of the English curriculum.
  • Foster a positive learning environment that encourages students to take ownership of their learning.
  • Attend parents’ evenings, open days, and other school events as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and achievement.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures, including safeguarding and health and safety guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent qualification.
  • A degree in English or a related subject.
  • A proven track record of success in teaching English at Key Stage 3 and 4 (GCSE).
  • A passion for teaching English and a commitment to providing high-quality education to all students.
  • Excellent subject knowledge and a deep understanding of the English curriculum.
  • The ability to plan and deliver engaging and challenging lessons that inspire and motivate students.
  • The ability to assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback and setting targets for improvement.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement effective schemes of work.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • The ability to foster a positive learning environment that encourages students to take ownership of their learning.
  • The ability to maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and achievement.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • A willingness to undertake professional development opportunities as required.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
