Pay: £54-£60

Job Type: Teaching Assistant

A using client in Newport are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join them in a full time role that will start in September. The school have identified a number of statements and have received extra funding!

If you are available to start immediately then that would be beneficial and help the transition into the school for the pupil.The role will consist of supporting a child 1:1 small group of children who exhibit challenging behaviour.
The successful candidate will have;


- Experience working with children with challenging behaviour (Not essential)
- The ability to be patient and calm in challenging circumstances
- A passion for seeing children achieve and progress

This role requires candidates to be proactive and engaging. Experience and qualifications aren't essential! For this unit Education/Psychology/Sports degrees have worked very well!

It is a full time role 5 days a week and will run for the full academic year. Part time candidates are still urged to apply!


This secondary school has just over 1350 pupils and a 78% attendance rate. The headteacher welcomes the teaching assistant to school and will provide training where needed. The secondary schools free school meals (FSM) is at 26% which requires a teaching assistant to work with some of these pupils. There are a number of bases within the school that support numeracy and literacy to behaviour and autism!
