Teaching Personnel are recruiting for a co-educational day and boarding preparatory school for children aged 7 to 13 which includes a pre-prep department for children aged 2 to 6. The school upholds high standards of academic achievement as well as a very full range of extra-curricular opportunities. It is a vibrant and busy school with high expectations in all areas.

Job Purpose

  • To ensure appropriate, safe and stimulating supervision and care of children in the school's After School Club

Main Tasks

Staff should be aware of the children's medical problems as relevant and procedures to follow, for example in the event of an accident. Staff must be aware of the up to date details on the children's medical, dietary, allergy and SEN requirements.

There will always be a ratio of 1 adult to 8 children. In the event there are more children, the school ensure another member of staff will be available..

Employees are expected to work in a friendly and professional manner, respecting confidentiality.

After School Club

The After School Club is available to Pre-prep children over the age of 3 years old. It runs from 3.15pm until 6pm every weekday during term time, except the last day of each term.

After School Club Supervisor

  • Ensure that appropriate resources are available, including games and activities. There is a range of ages in After School Club and all ages should be considered when setting up activities. Pre-Prep facilities may also be used, for example the Hall, the outside areas or cooking facilities.
  • Establish appropriate hygiene practices and supervise the children having tea.
  • Develop and maintain a friendly and professional relationship with parents/carers.
  • Ensure that the health and safety of the children is maintained during all activities, both inside and outside.
  • Observe appropriate staffing ratios according to numbers of children involved in the sessions and liaise with the Head of Pre-Prep where further staffing might be required.
  • Provide a safe and happy handover to parents on collection, and liaise where necessary

-e.g passing on notes to a child's teacher

  • Ensure that any uncollected children are handed over to the Head of Pre-Prep (or nominated Deputy) at 6pm.
